A Red Letter Day

A quiet day in God Zone as Brett and I concentrated on our craft. Very little chatter and absolutely no problems with the pencils.

Brett's commission is coming on leaps and bounds - very colourful although some of the signage is testing his eyes...

and it is becoming apparent why Cyclops is so called...

And, last but not least, the end of Jim Richard's JPS BMW 635.

(My apologies for the poor quality of the images this week - it was a rather grey day - and the images are rather flat.)

The End is Nigh

A difficult morning. The Rapture was supposed to take place yesterday but it looks like Brett and I have been left behind (along with those of you reading this I guess). Listened to RNZ's Sunday Morning with Chris Laidlaw interviewing Michael Ruppert regarding the Collapse while we beavered away. But the worst of it was Brett & I kept breaking the lead in our pencils (settle down!) or, rather, the wax-based pigments kept fracturing resulting in much shorter pencils.

So, the end is nigh for the Beamer, but Brett had to be pushed to even get this far...

and the GT-R has progressed...

and I have started a drawing of a TranzMetro English Electric unit DM556 'Cyclops' before it was refurbished

Wet Wet Wet

Torrential rain. Flooding & slips. State Highway 2 at Melling was closed because of a slip so Brett had to go cross-country for this morning's session.

DC4156 is now complete.

Brett has started a new commission - Clark Proctor's Nissan GT-R...

although some progress has also been made on the background of the BMW 635.

A load of Bull..

Prancing Bull that is...

While cleaning out the attic (read roof space) I found an old enamel paint painting I did maybe 30 years ago..
So Ive pulled it out of its old frame, cleaned it up and placed up for auction.. I always liked the juxtaposition of the red car against the pastel wall... the colours just worked for me.. Its rough admittedly but its interesting

oh year and for those that dont know Lamborghini uses a prancing bull as its emblem and this is an early Countach.

Mother's Day

We're just a couple of old mothers wittering away drinking La Trappe blonde ale and eating Kapiti Aorangi brie.

Brett has completed the 635. Now starts the task of rendering the background - simple in concept but time consuming.

DC4156 is almost complete as well - just the rear bogey and some track remain to be done.

Surely that's not right? Oh, sorry. May Day. And stop calling me 'Shirley'!

Fuller's London Porter and a nicely ripened Kaimai Camembert. The National Program playing in the background. A good morning's work.

I rather like this stage of Brett's 635 - I have a weakness for BMW Cabriolets (I'm slowly building a collection of them as 1:18 diecast models) - and the long sleek lines of the 6-series looks very sporting. Brett's doing a good job of this one:

And the DC is progressing slowly - must be all those wagons it's in charge of:
